n the depths of suburbia lies a gem of a restaurant. It has authentic Indian food at very reasonable prices. The decor isn't flash - maybe stuck in a 1980s timewarp but the food is great and so is the service. They are attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The menu is extensive so it was hard to choose - everything sounded delicious. After visiting so many Indian restaurants in Wellington to find food that was authentic and not made with generic sauces with chilli thrown in, it was great to find food made from scratch with hand ground spices. The flavours just popped in your mouth - coriander, cumin, fenugreek...I had the restaurant's speciality Chicken Swagat and my companion had Chicken Balti. Both meals were delicious with succulent chunks of chicken and amazing flavours.Their Garlic Naan bread was light and flavoursome. The food was plentiful so we left the restaurant very full! This was my second visit here, my companion's first. We will definitely be back:)
I have never been a fan of Indian food at all...until I tried these guys.Hands down the best Indian I have ever had, makes everyone else pale in comparison. I can taste all the spices in their food, nothing seems to cancel out anything else, instead all the flavors compliment each other nicely. My partner and I are regulars here, great food, and great service. The restaurant host is always lovely and welcoming. Highly recommended!
Probably the most delicious Indian food I have ever had! My husband and I order from here regularly and we have never been disappointed. They serve nice, large portions and the medium (Kiwi) hotness is fantastic as gives a nice zing, but you can still taste all the amazing spices and flavours. We can recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Lamb Korma is also excellent. Also, the staff are always really helpful and friendly
